Yoga Workshop Saturday 12th November

Stepping into winter

With more darkness  and the beginning of winter  on the horizon, it is a great time to take that positive energy and harness it for personal development and take ourselves further.

FEEL, REFRESHED, REVITALISE AND RESTORED

When we practice yoga we aim to deepen our stretches and release more held tension. This workshop will explore ways of going further safely. We will enter perhaps unknown territory and maybe encounter emotions and tensions that are locked in our bodies and release them with gentle patience.
We will work with hip openers and twists. There will be an opportunity to process as we go along with counterbalanced restorative poses to help bring stillness. We will bring some flow into the practice with hip openers and twists done in sequence to help us warm into the practice.
The workshop will have refreshments available.
The workshop will end by balancing the whole body through bringing in some shoulder and upper back stretches to help lift us away from the intensity of the hip stretches. We will also spend some time in restorative poses to quiet the mind and integrate the Yoga practice.
We will work gently and with plenty of space to find stillness. Leaving the workshop feeling balanced, having gone deep into letting go. We will give ourselves time to feel grounded and integrated before the workshop ends.

CHAIR YOGA FOR HEALING, STRENGTH, AND MOBILITY

What Does Chair Yoga Mean?

Chair yoga is a gentle practice in which postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair. Chair yoga classes typically target those with physical disabilities or aging men and women who find a typical yoga session too challenging. It is also a great form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on a gentle practice.

Aspects of Chair yoga may even be incorporated into a regular Hatha yoga class, particularly to assist those with balance issues or anyone who has trouble getting down to and up off of the floor.
